The New World Spirits reunion show is this Saturday Jan. 16 at the Pageant, in St. Louis, Mo and I was fortunate enough to hear some of the rehearsals. Now I thought this band had that undefinable element that gives a band the power to move and captivate people, back in the day. They were known for their musical talent, intelligent and emotional lyrics and an extremely loyal fan base. Now, ten or more years later they reunite not knowing if IT'S still there, and find that its like they were never apart. Except that they all bring the experience and abilities that their individual musical paths have given them. It is great to see the band evolve or come of age, they seem comfortable in their skin and that spark is still there. It has ignited and activated that still loyal fan base who were just waiting for the day. And they won't be disappointed! You can feel it in the music, those hairs raise on the back of your neck, it runs down your arms and you know something special is happening, and Saturday at the Pageant is going to be just that, A Happening. I think allot of that comes from the importance or emotion that the band places on the music and that these are talented, seasoned musicians doing what they love with friends they love after too long of a hiatus.This is going to be a great show fueled by the energy of these journeymen musicians and that force that activated those loyal fans who won't be satisfied until this band is back together full time.
